Ryan S. Test Your Puzzle IQ
Sterling, 1993. - 96 pages.
There are 76 puzzles in this book in the form of labyrinths, mazes, honey-comb hexagons, overlapping and intersecting roadways, distorted figures, continuous meandering lines and linking homographs. Each one consists of an intricately designed trap, from which the reader must escape.
Get ready to put on your thinking caps and prepare to explore your powers of reason, logic and ingenuity. It's time to test your mental dexterity and tempt your thought processes to meander down a few untravelled avenues.
Before you is a connoisseur's cornucopia of perplexing pencil puzzlers that will stump you, surprise you, and most of all entertain you. It's my personal goal to make each puzzle a visually delightful and enticing art form that immediately captures the eye, flirts with the curiosity, and challenges the mind to an exciting and tantalizing mental duel.
Whatever turns you on in the fascinating world of puzzles you'll find in this fantasmagoric fun fest of visual vexations. Each of these thought-thumpers originally appeared in my Copley News Service feature Puzzles 8f Posers. There are word games, number quizzes, problems in logic, diabolical dissections, scrambled letters, magic mazes, and more.
The difficulty of each puzzle is rated as a one, two or three penciller. Although the one-pencil puzzlers are the easiest, they still require considerable flexing of your mental muscles. Three-pencil puzzlers are the toughest nuts to crack, and demand rigorous cerebral calisthenics to decipher, decode, disentangle or divine these gruelers.
