Without claiming a comprehensive treatment of the linguistic material on the Albanian language, this book deals systematically and coherently with the essential parts of grammar, accompanied by a variety of exercises based on contemporary methodological principles for the teaching of foreign languages. This book is the fruit of several years labour by teachers of this language and foreign languages. It contains 10 teaching units and has a vocabulary of about 1300 words. These are some of the most frequently used words of the Albanian language in everyday life. The words and grammatical explanations are translated into English, thus allowing foreigners to use the book without the need of a teacher. The lessons begin with dialogues aimed at practicing the spoken Albanian language. The treatment of grammar progresses in such a way that makes it easier to acquire. The lessons follow a certain structure that begins with dialogues that provide vocabulary for each topic, expressions and everyday language which are then followed by grammar points in a simple and practical way. At the end of the lessons, a text is often given for the purpose of reading and writing. The exercises are varied and follow such patterns that are very practical and far from monotonous to learn.
Through this book the most essential needs of those who learn Albanian to communicate in the most urgent situations of daily life will be met.
