Edition, English translation and commentary on the Gathas (Gāθās), the core of the great Mazdayasnian (Zoroastrian) liturgy, the Yasna. Five gāθās comprising seventeen songs composed in Old Avestan language are the following: the Ahunauuaitī Gāθā (Yasna 28-34), the Uštauuaitī Gāθā (Yasna 43-46), the Spə̄ṇtāmańiiu Gāθā (Yasna 47-50), the Vohuxšaθrā Gāθā (Yasna 51) and the Vahištōišti Gāθā (Y. 53).
