This book is a study of three problematic verbal categories found in the Indo-European dialects, all of which contain in whole or in part verbs possessing stative meanings: the class III and IV presents of Tocharian, the Germanic weak class III, and the Balto-Slavic stative presents in *-ī-. This is preceded by an introductory chapter reviewing the IE stative formations (pp. 13-23) and a short concluding chapter on the role of IE *-ē-.
