Kaisler S.H. Software paradigms
Hoboken: John Wiley & Sons. – 2005. – 457 p.
This book arose out of the Graduate Master’s Program core course, CS210— Software Paradigms, which is offered at the Department of Computer Science at George Washington University. When we set out to design that course, we realized that we discussed models of software development in several courses at the graduate level but had no course that tied all of the concepts together. We realized that the different models fit into a hierarchy based on scale and complexity. Our course is intended to provide the student with an understanding of the scaling of software systems and the associated issues and problems as the application structure becomes more complex. Each topic in this book could be the subject of a course in its own right. We felt it important for the student to be exposed to all of these topics in a single course, with the attendant freedom to pursue in depth individual topics through reading courses or independent research.
